Nadī

Work by Aishwarya Raut

Our brilliant dancer Aishwarya Raut presents Nadī (the Marathi word for ‘river’) at our very own Rambert Studios.

Performed by Aishwarya Raut and Antonello Sangirardi, this contemporary dance duet is inspired by a folk tale from the Konkan region of India and combines extreme physicality with theatricality.

Nadī’ which translates to ‘River’ in Marathi is a contemporary duet by Aishwarya Raut, based on stories from the rural Konkan region of India.

Inspired by nature, literature and history, Raut reflects on stories she grew up listening to as a girl and deconstructs them as a woman.

Danced by former Rambert dancers Aishwarya Raut and Antonello Sangirardi the duet brings together the artists’ unique perspectives and movement qualities as it explores desire, resistance and conformity in our world.
