Susan Cooper

Susan Cooper remembers her time as a dancer with Rambert from 1969 to 1974.

Susan trained at the Royal Ballet School until the age of 16. After working with a small touring ballet company for a couple of years, she auditioned for Norman Morrice and joined Ballet Rambert in 1969. Susan recalls working with choreographers such as Anna Sokolow and Christopher Bruce and how she developed into a contemporary dancer despite years of classical training. In this interview, Susan discusses the choreography of Norman Morrice and gives an insight into his creative practice.
