Rambert is its people. At the heart of the company is a permanent ensemble of 18 full-time, world-class dancers- the only UK company of its kind- supported by a wider team of choreographers, rehearsal directors, producers, technicians and specialists who make our work possible on stage and beyond.

Each day begins with a 90-minute company class, five days a week, led by a rotating group of expert teachers working across different styles and traditions. Rehearsals follow, often running for five hours a day, as dancers work with choreographers, rehearsal directors and creative teams to develop new work or prepare productions for touring.

Across the year, Rambert collaborates with dozens of freelance artists and creative practitioners- from choreographers and composers to lighting designers, dramaturgs and filmmakers, alongside teachers, coaches and healthcare professionals who support dancer wellbeing. Dancers receive regular physiotherapy and specialist care, helping them meet the physical demands of a long-performing career.

Maintaining this level of excellence costs over £1 million each year, covering salaries, training, care and professional development. It’s an investment in people- enabling artists to take creative risks, develop new ideas and sustain their practice at the highest level.
