Rambert Grades A Milestone in Dance Education: Storytellers Performance Pathway At Rambert, we remain steadfast in our belief in the transformative power of dance to shape individuals, spark creativity, and celebrate individuality. That is why we are thrilled that Rambert Grades (programme for dance educators to deliver contemporary dance syllabus in their schools across the world) has launched the Storytellers Performance Pathway as part of its syllabus this January. This exciting news brings new additions to the curriculum featuring Hofesh Shechter and Alexandra Seutin introducing solos by some of the most innovative and influential voices in contemporary dance—Matthew Bourne, Vidya Patel, Will Tuckett, and ZooNation. Designed for dancers aged seven and above, the solos offer a unique opportunity for students to develop technically while immersing themselves in the artistry and storytelling that define world-class contemporary dance. This initiative represents more than a chance to learn choreography. It’s an invitation for students to step into the creative worlds of works like The Car Man, Swan Lake, and Some Like It Hip Hop, connecting their training to the vibrant narratives of these celebrated pieces. By engaging with this material, young dancers will hone skills that extend far beyond the studio—creativity, individuality, and confidence. The launch of the Storytellers Performance Pathway follows a remarkable year for Rambert Grades, which achieved key milestones throughout 2024. From expanding training into Brazil with an overwhelmingly successful in-person course in São Paulo, to forging stronger partnerships with organisations like Stopgap Dance Company and the Royal Academy of Dance, the programme has continued to grow its impact on dance education worldwide. Its inclusive and holistic approach has resonated across borders, as demonstrated by the enthusiasm of teachers, students, and practitioners globally. Rambert Grades has always championed dance training that nurtures the whole person. It is uniquely positioned to provide an experience that combines rigorous standards with the artistic exploration necessary to develop the dancers, makers, and storytellers of tomorrow. This launch is a celebration of what makes contemporary dance so extraordinary: its ability to tell stories, evoke emotion, and empower dancers to find their own voice. I am excited to see how these solos inspire the next generation and contribute to shaping the future of dance—one creative step at a time.
