Work note: It is unclear whether Ballet Rambert dancers were involved in the 1957 performances of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera's production, with choreography by David Ellis. The 1957 programme book gives the dance company's name as The Glyndebourne Festival Ballet 'by arrangement with the Ballet Rambert'. The Glyndebourne Archive states that according to the contracts correspondence from 1957, the dancers came from Ballet Rambert. Only one of them appeared with the company during its regular performances that year, however. The others were possibly from the Rambert School. In the 1958 programme, Ballet Rambert is named as the dance company.
Production note: In the programme, Osbert Lancaster is credited as 'designer'.
