Try something new in this high energy, Caribbean-inspired class. This class is a follow along style, with space for freestyle and improvisation. They’ll be references to Ska, soca and calypso. A chair and a scarf are used for cool down, so bring them along to your session if you like. Taught by one of our new Rambert Plus teachers, Sheba Montserrat is a Caribbean dance specialist and loves to reconnect people with the joy of dancing.

This class is a dynamic contemporary class inspired by martial arts with elements of acrobatics and handstand practice. Join Michael and progress through a series of gentle mobilisations to some strengthening and more strenuous movements. Developing handbalance skills, learn the acrobatic maneuvers, carousel and flick up, and then integrate them into a dynamic and expressive contemporary sequence.

JAMAICAN DANCE: Get ready to ‘Rock steady’. Today in this over 60s class, we’re going to learn a form of Jamaican dance. You’ll learn to dance to reggae and try out elements of Nyabinghi dance. During the class, you’ll be able to test yourself on your own rhythm and dynamics. If you’d prefer, you can use a stick as a balance aid. You can also use a chair, but this is optional.

SOCIAL DANCE: Learn to Waltz with Emma in this Social Dance class. Explore the rich era for new music and dance crazes in the early 20th century. Learn the Palais Glide, one of the hottest new moves in the 1930s and 1940s which still endures today. Try a gentle overview to the era of Swing music with one of the original dance styles of the day.
