Career Highlights:
Performing Trisha Brown’s Set and Reset at the Tate Modern; Never To Forget choreographed by Benoit Swan Pouffer at St. Paul’s Cathedral; Sharon Eyal’s Aisha and Abhaya. While studying at The Juilliard School, Naya has performed in works such as Crystal Pite’s Grace Engine, Martha Graham’s Rite of Spring and Peter Chu’s Play Well with Others. During her sophomore year she was a dancer in the Opera Hippolyte et Aricie directed by Stephen Wadsworth and was chosen to be one of three soloists in Jose Limon’s Missa Brevis. Naya made her debut at The Koch Theater located in Lincoln Center NYC as the lead couple in Donald McKayle’s Crossing the Rubicon and later danced the female role in McKayle’s Rainbow Round My Shoulder.

Naya is a 2016 National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner and was recently featured in The Obama’s Reach Higher hour for the Dear Class of 2020 YouTube special. Naya performed in a tribute to Grace Jones State of Grace by Nona Hendryx choreographed by Francesca Harper, and has danced and performed at various venues with a jazz band based in NYC called Mwenso and the Shakes.
