DISCO: In this funky Disco class, Danielle will teach you The Smack. For those who thought hand dancing was just the YMCA, the Smack is another dimension. This ‘all arms, all hips, all feet’ hand dance comes to us courtesy of Jennifer Meloney, owner of Jennifer’s Studio, based in Chicago in the late 1970s. We all love some good history behind the movement!

DANCEHALL: Be the first amongst your friends to try something new this week. One of our new teachers for Rambert Plus , Paradigmz is a specialist in Dancehall and dance from the Caribbean and Nigeria. He’s especially passionate about the power of dance for older adults. In this Dancehall inspired class, Paradgimz will guide you through steps like ‘back to basics’, ‘online’, ‘New York, New York’, and the ‘side ripple’.

If you’re up for exploring a different style of moving, we’ve got you covered with our new Pilates class. Ex-Rambert dancer Patricia Okenwa leads a new chair based class. This class includes gentle stretching and mobilising of the joints, and is suitable for complete beginners. All you need to do is show up and push yourself. Oh, and bring a yoga mat, chair, a towel and cushion if you have them.

Try something new in this high energy, Caribbean-inspired class. This class is a follow along style, with space for freestyle and improvisation. They’ll be references to Ska, soca and calypso. A chair and a scarf are used for cool down, so bring them along to your session if you like. Taught by one of our new Rambert Plus teachers, Sheba Montserrat is a Caribbean dance specialist and loves to reconnect people with the joy of dancing.
